Our Story

How it all started...

Shalom Philou Media was born from a deep realization: many parents and children need more creative ways to teach kids about Jesus. While teaching a lesson on Esther, we asked the children which book of the Bible her story was found in-only 2 out of 30 could answer correctly. This experience highlighted an urgent need to make the Bible come alive for children, as many only recognized the most well-known characters and missed out on the richness of the rest of God’s story. Our mission is to help bridge that gap, making biblical stories engaging and accessible so every child can connect with the full narrative of Scripture.

Expanding the vision...

After much prayer and brainstorming, we discovered that children love collecting cards. We realized that bringing Bible characters to life through these cards would inspire kids to want to learn about them. God led us to an artist skilled in drawing comic book characters, turning our vision into reality. Nathalie Rogge, passionate about children’s education, suggested creating a website to complement the cards-a place where parents could teach Bible stories engagingly using all five senses. This idea led to the launch of www.makingthebiblecomealive.com, which now serves families in English and French, while the cards themselves are available in English, French, Spanish, and Mandarin.

Where we are headed...

As a Lego enthusiast, the next natural step was to transform Bible characters into play brick style, combining two passions into one.

This inspired the creation of *Stories of the Bible*, a book designed to introduce younger children to Bible characters through short mini bios. The book is now available in English, French, and Spanish. To further support families in growing in God’s Word, we developed *Time*, a family devotion featuring simple, creative ideas to bring Bible characters to life in everyday moments.
