Steps
  • Begin by asking the children if they have ever needed a helper when doing something hard.
  • Share briefly: "Moses had a big job to lead God’s people, but he was nervous to speak to Pharaoh. God chose Aaron, Moses’ brother, to help as a spokesperson."
  • Show a simple toy microphone or pretend phone and say, “Aaron spoke for Moses because Moses was shy. 

Discussion
Who helps you when you are doing something tough?” Discuss briefly.

CRAFT

Material
  • Cardboard cutouts of the high priest’s breastplateCardboard base
  • 12 jewels (use stickers or colored paper) per child
  • Glue
  • Crayons

Instructions
  1. Provide paper/cardboard cutouts of the high priest’s breastplate with 12 jewels (use stickers or colored paper).
  2. Guide kids to decorate their own breastplate.
  3. Explain Aaron’s role wearing special clothes to lead and serve God.

Discussion
Discuss how Aaron served God faithfully in a big job.

  1. Setup a simple relay race where kids work in pairs.

How to play
  1. One partner is “Moses” who cannot speak and the other is “Aaron” who helps by giving directions.
  2. Help children realize the importance of helping and supporting each other.

Debrief
Discuss how “Aaron helped Moses, just like we help our friends and family.”

Steps
  1. While eating, briefly explain that Aaron made a golden calf, but God forgives us when we make mistakes.

    Encourage thankfulness for God’s forgiveness and kindness.

OBJECT LESSON

Material
  • Prepare a simple craft or picture of a blooming staff

Steps
  • Show a stick, branch or picture of blooming staff. 
  • Explain how God made Aaron’s staff bloom with flowers and almonds to show He chose Aaron as the leader.
  • Say, “God shows us who He chooses to lead. He chose Aaron and his family to help guide His people.”
  • Highlight that God chooses and uses people who are faithful to Him.
Dear God, thank You for sending helpers like Aaron to serve Your people. Please help us be faithful and brave in helping others and learning from our mistakes. Thank You for always loving and forgiving us. In Jesus' name, amen.
